Spring’s Wood Season

Out of the darkness of Winter, light is beginning to break through and as nature responds to this new light, everything is starting to expand. Spring is the starting point to all things. It is that which instills in us hope, makes us energetic, draws us out from the passivity of Winter, wafting us eagerly forward on a path we need to follow.

There is pressure upon us now and for some, there is a need for a few more days in the transition to finally settle into the new rhythm that will give us the direction that is strong enough to push us forward, out of stagnation and bring into being that which might otherwise have remained hidden.

wood’s invitations

  • Support Wood’s two officials, the Liver and Gallbladder in charge of planning, decision making & action by eating green leafy vegetables, lemon water, gooseberries and green apples.

  • Reflect on what is truly important to you and what steps you can take to bring these dreams to life as you enter this new chapter.

  • Spring’s force reminds us of the focused strength required for the renewal of life. Explore Meditation as a practice of exercising Nirodha, staying on point, bringing any uncontrolled energy into action rather than allowing itself to dissipate into an aimless frenzy.

  • Wood in its most creative sense, is what we need to call upon if we are to assert our right to be ourselves. Is there something in your life that has you shaping yourself in an unnatural way? Are there boundaries you can uphold for yourself so you are more able to move in ways where you feel a bit more like yourself?

  • Nourish your eyes. Take breaks from the screen and go outside and look, far and wide. Take a snack with you nuts, seeds and berries.

This initial flowering colour of hope is only a delicate coating at first, a slight touch of life yet each individual shading offers a glimpse of new life. The air we breath seems more buoyant and we all respond by the stirring of our pulse, our pace and in our own expression of life at its strongest.

It is Spring’s sense of renewal that bestows on us the vision and inspiration to bring our goals and creative energy to fruition. Whist we may be challenged to grow and to remain flexible as we change, we recognise that we will all experience the growing pains in the process of realising our true potential.
